Esmeralda became my ultimate favorite character when I was a kid, having been able to access The Hunchback of Notre Dame by chance, her feisty and self-possessed nature with a heart that was generous and seeing really stayed with me. The way it was natural for her to care about her people, Quasimodo despite others’ judgments and noise showed me a spirit of a free woman, liberated in herself and with love for her identity, crafty in her ways but focused and naturally sharing her Love through her advocating for others’ justice and dignity too.

I write this to help you understand where I’m coming from better as her story may hint at.
